Speak up for kids

Change starts with action. Children need your voice now more than ever. Lawmakers are creating policies that will impact kids, educators and our public schools. Read the Legislative Update below and see how you can easily take action to make a difference for children, teachers and our public schools.

Legislative Update

The 2026 Florida Legislative Session is underway. Our public schools need your advocacy. There are two important issues impacting public schools this week related to funding. I encourage you to contact the following House and Senate leaders (using the links below) and:

  1. Request that the Florida House maintain the Enrollment Stabilization Program funding. The message is don’t change it; fund it.

  2. Urge Senate and House leadership to protect $231 million already allocated to our schools that could be withheld this school year (due to a decline in birthrates, enrollment, and the voucher program). We must advocate that the legislature should keep school budgets whole this year through increasing the Base Student Allocation or the FEFP (Florida Education Finance Program).

Use the easy email links below to edit the sample email or- even -better- write your own. Tap on the legislator’s phone number to be connected to their office where you can leave a message advocating for these issues.
